If you’re considering enrolling your child in an independent/private high school or boarding school, you may not even have noticed admissions season come upon you. Well, it’s here now! Get ready for the applications, interviews, essays, parent essays and interviews, teacher recommendations, and the somewhat mystifying admissions test.
Honestly, it’s hard to believe they expect this much from middle-schoolers!
So, it’s a very good thing that admissions counselor Robert Powers (of College Torch) and admissions test expert Marina Grijalva (of Mundo Academy) are coming together this month to offer a free workshop for you at the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce.
By the end of this workshop, families will:
*Be able to identify criteria to help you select high schools for your individual school list
*Understand, generally, what occurs in the high school application timeline
*Know the intricacies of the high school admissions test (ISEE, HSPT, SSAT)
*Have a few tips and strategies to help with essays, interviews, and the activities list
After the workshop, you will have an opportunity to schedule a consultation with both Robert and Marina, who can support you with this whole process, start to finish. (Phew!)
Don’t miss this.
*Workshop attendees must register ahead of time. Space is limited in the free workshop.
*Student attendance is optional, but strongly encouraged.
*Please direct questions to Marina at firstname.lastname@example.org.
