Chef Instructor Rose Ludwig of the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, Los Angeles, and radio and TV show personality Peter “King of Cuisine” Dills have joined the judging panel for the Taste of Arcadia Culinary Contest at the Arboretum on Sept. 23.
Ludwig and Dills will join returning judge David Flood of Flooded with Flavor Catering Company and former chef of Nordstrom Cafe, who judged and presented awards to the five winners of the 2012 contest, most of which will be returning to Taste of Arcadia this year.
Taste of Arcadia, made possible in part by presenting Gold Sponsor Westfield Santa Anita, draws about 1,000 guests who enjoy the many different foods and tastes from 43 of the most exciting local restaurants, caterers and wine-and-beer vendors at no additional charge beyond the admission ticket. It will run from 5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. Monday, September 23, in the lush setting of the L.A. County Arboretum, 301 N. Baldwin Ave., Arcadia.
The judges will sample food, desserts and drinks from 43 food and beverage vendors throughout the entire evening. Winners will need to be present and still serving to guests when judges announce their selections near the end of the event at 9 p.m. in the following categories:
- Best of Show
- Most Innovative Dish
- Best Savory Item
- Best Dessert Item
- Best Presentation
Tickets to Taste of Arcadia may be purchased through Thursday, Sept. 19 for $60 online or by phone: 626-447-2159. Thereafter tickets will only be available at the gate for $70 (Chamber members get $10 discount).
