The Chamber awarded Arlynn “Arcadia Chamber Member of the Year” in 2007 for her active participation and she has been on the Chamber’s Executive Committee since 2010. Also in 2010, Arlynn was awarded “Small Business Woman of the Year” from California Assembly-44th District-Anthony Portantino and Senate-21st District Carol Liu.
As chairwoman of the Taste of Arcadia committee in 2012, she oversaw the biggest and most successful event in many years, drawing three-hours of live coverage by KTLA TV channel 5.

After getting married in 1974, Arlynn continued her education at Pasadena Community College, following up with Extensive Leadership Training Workshops – 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Franklin Covey, a Certificate in Computerized Accounting, and a Broker’s License with the California Department of Real Estate. Recently, she graduated from the Professional Realty Institute receiving the National Association of REALTORS, GRI Designation.

Since 2005, Arlynn has dedicated her efforts to Real Estate within the San Gabriel Valley, incorporating her administration and people skills. Since then she has become actively involved with the community. Membership with Arcadia Chamber, the Arcadia Association of REALTORS and affiliation with San Gabriel Economic Partnership has provided her the opportunity to develop a productive network of exemplary and diverse leaders in the business, government and community sectors.

Arlynn and Gary, who is Vice President for Ben F. Smith Inc., a leading Concrete sub-contractor in the San Gabriel Valley, have two grandchildren.

The annual dinner program on March 21 featuring presentations by Chamber and City leaders and political dignitaries is considered one of Arcadia’s premier events. In addition to the induction or Arlynn and presentations to the Romos and AAR, outgoing Chamber President Pete Siberell will be saluted.
